ABOUT ME

Father, Computer geek and Prop builder.

I guess that kinda sums it up. I’ve loved computers since the Apple (and II) and even the IBM PC XT. In school, I always opted for any and all computer classes I could get. I even started on my own custom PC building for myself and friends. I think that was more of a competition to see who had the fastest PC. Ha! In 2000 I started in a computer company and within a couple years became their product manager. Since then, I opened my own break/fix and installation company – Tekworx, Corp.

When I was a kid, my Mother took me to see A New Hope. I was hooked! Especially when family night was all about Star Trek. I became addicted to Star Wars from the start and made sure my Mother took me to see the following movies as they were released. I had all the toys and dreamed one day of at least seeing a real Stormtrooper. When I was 16, I started to make my own props with anything I could find. I eventually started to make better and better Star Wars props, until one day learning of the 501st. From that point, I learned so much from friends and other members and so began my love for building the props I still have and do today.

My kids are my world and my family is so important to me. Even though it’s exhausting sometimes (lol!) I love being able to spend so much time with them. Plus I get a ton of support from my Mother and my Sister. I couldn’t ask for anything else.

My Family and I are huge Star Wars and Hockey fans…well Pittsburgh Penguins that is. I love getting the family involved with our 501st troops and attending hockey games. And with the 501st, it really gives the kids a positive outlook and values. Teaching them to help others and make a positive impact on the community speaks volumes about the Legion.

I guess this is one of the reasons I fell in love with the 501st Legion. The group is (simply put) a huge family. Everyone, since the beginning, has been so kind and helpful to each other and not to mention a fricken blast to hang out with…no matter what city, state or country any members are from! Most of our members are married with kids as well, and seeing all the kids getting involved as well is heart warming.

Family, friends…and The 501st ….what else can anyone want?
